Terms of Service
Last updated: 21 June 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and KaedePath for your use of the KaedePath app and website (the “Service”). By creating an account or using KaedePath, you accept these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. Who can use KaedePath
You must be at least 13 years old and able to enter a binding contract. If you are under the age of digital consent where you live, you may use KaedePath only with the involvement of a parent or guardian, who accepts these terms on your behalf.
2. Your account
Keep your login details secure and do not share your account. You are responsible for activity that happens under your account. Tell us at support.kotoba@gmail.com if you think someone else has accessed it.
3. Your content
You keep ownership of the decks, flashcards and notes you create in KaedePath. You grant us a limited licence to store and process this content solely to provide the Service to you, as described in our Privacy Policy. You are responsible for the content you create and for having the right to use it.
4. AI features and accuracy
KaedePath uses AI to generate flashcards, hold conversation and voice practice, explain grammar and analyze text. AI output can be inaccurate or incomplete — including translations, readings and explanations. Always double-check anything important, and treat KaedePath as a study aid rather than an authoritative source or a substitute for a teacher or official certification.
5. KaedePath Pro, AI credits and fair use
Some AI features require a KaedePath Pro subscription. Pro includes a monthly allowance of AI credits. If you use up your monthly allowance, you can buy optional top-up credits, which do not expire and are used only after your monthly allowance is exhausted. The monthly allowance resets on a rolling basis.
We may adjust allowances, apply reasonable fair-use limits, or change how credits work; we will give notice of material changes. Billing terms are set out in our Commerce Disclosures, which form part of these terms.
6. Acceptable use
Please do not:
- use the Service unlawfully, or upload infringing or harmful content;
- try to access other users’ accounts or data;
- scrape, copy, resell or reverse-engineer the Service;
- abuse the AI features — for example automated bulk requests, or using them to generate disallowed content.
We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms.
7. Subscriptions and billing
Pricing, renewal, cancellation and refunds for KaedePath Pro and top-up credits are described in our Commerce Disclosures. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. We may change prices on reasonable notice, which will apply from your next renewal.
8. Intellectual property
The Service, including its design, software and content (other than your content), belongs to us or our licensors. “JLPT” and the Japanese-Language Proficiency Test are the property of their respective owners; KaedePath is an independent study tool and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or certified by the Japan Foundation or JEES.
9. Disclaimers
Beyond Section 4, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent permitted by law, we do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any content (including AI output) is accurate or fit for a particular purpose. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.
10. Our liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the claim. If you are a consumer, you keep your statutory rights.
11. Ending these terms
You can stop using KaedePath and close your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms or where we reasonably need to. Sections that by their nature should continue — such as content ownership, disclaimers and liability — survive after your account ends.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes are subject to the courts of that jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, you may also have rights under the mandatory law of the country where you live. Update this section if you operate from a different jurisdiction.
